WW III? Houston Nuclear Exercise

The FBI and the military are holding a week-long nuclear exercise in Houston “to learn how best to deal with a nuke dropped on a US city,” according to the British newspaper the Daily Mail. But what about you?

The article resembles the “bombing runs” that used to be featured periodically in American medical publications: U.S. target maps, casualty counts, and zones of destruction overlaid on city maps.

People are warned that they will see military aircraft and personnel in protective gear during the Houston exercise. Apparently, no public educational events are included.

The civilian preparedness situation in the U.S. is no better now than it was at the time of the false warning in Hawaii in 2018, and far worse than in the 1950s—although the threat level is much higher.

Nevertheless, most people will not be in the zone of complete destruction and will have an excellent chance of survival if they know what to do. Most important: drop and cover if you see a bright flash. Seek the best available shelter if there is warning or if you see fallout (it looks like sand or grit). Be aware of ways to construct expedient shelter and radiation monitoring instruments. You need distance or mass (e.g., earth, concrete, or water) between yourself and the radiation source.

The most important preparation is mental and spiritual. Your life is a precious gift from your Creator. People depend on you—your family, your community, your nation. Humanity has survived the direst catastrophes before—but only if they have not lost the will to live.

WW III? Tucker Carlson Reports

There is much speculation about why Tucker Carlson suddenly “parted ways” with Fox News. He has said many things that offended important people, but here’s one that directly affects you, if true: Leaked intelligence documents on Ukraine reportedly show that the U.S. is at war with Russia, now, and Russia is not losing.

The bipartisan Narrative is that Ukraine is valiantly fighting for freedom and democracy, while the U.S. and NATO are simply providing support. The incompetent Russians will surely be defeated in the anticipated spring offensive IF the West just sends them the needed weapons and ammunition.

Tucker stated that American soldiers themselves are fighting Russian soldiers—according to intelligence briefing slides. It’s a hot war between the two primary nuclear superpowers. Seven Ukrainian soldiers are killed for every Russian killed, and Ukrainian air defenses have been “utterly degraded,” Carlson stated.

The news media are focused mostly on the “criminal” (not a whistleblower), a 21-year old Air National Guardsman who posted the documents.

It is claimed that the “leaked” documents were altered, and that Russian casualties are much higher than Ukrainian.

So, what do we believe?

Ordinary Americans cannot count on learning the true situation from government or mainstream media. But it is highly likely that the danger of all-out war is extreme. In the fog of war, or when one side is desperate, accidents or preemptive launches can occur. Your first notification of an attack may be the power going out or bright flashes in the sky.

Do you have the basic knowledge of how to increase your chance of surviving a nearby nuclear detonation? Have you made some minimal preparations to survive if you can’t leave your home? Don’t place all your hope in the arrival of government aid!

Will Bank Dominos Fall?

DDP Newsletter Vol. XXXIX, No. 2

With the sudden collapse of the Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), recently rated very highly, people are understandably nervous. This was said to be the second largest bank failure in history. Will your bank be next?

SVB’s special features included administrators who were more concerned about being “woke” than about the financial stability of their bank. Most depositors (93%), including many venture capitalists, had accounts greatly in excess of the FDIC-insured amount of $250,000. Many are just very very important persons, such as Prince Harry or major donors to the Democratic Party—and major businesses linked to the Chinese Communist Party. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, after an initial denial, said that they would all be bailed out—at the expense of consumers who will have to pay increased fees that banks must assess to rebuild the Deposit Insurance Fund (tinyurl.com/y2uvak8z).

Yellen told Congress that depositors at other banks would be similarly protected only if “failure to protect uninsured depositors would create systemic risk and significant economic and financial consequences” (https://tinyurl.com/pv7cmh3a).

If fears sparked by recent bank runs continue, there could be a sharp drop in the velocity of money as people hoard cash, with sizable deflationary/depressionary effects, writes Richard Maybury. But he states that you need not fear a run on your bank like the one depicted in the 1946 movie It’s a Wonderful Life. He writes: “When the Twin Towers came down in 2001, a run on the banks began. Federal Reserve staff quickly contacted armored car companies to make sure any bank needing greenbacks could be speedily resupplied. The run was nipped in the bud, and you probably never heard about it.”

If he were in charge, he would have such a rescue plan ready. Depositors would get their money back. But what would it be worth (Early Warning Report April-May 2023)?

Like many, Maybury recommends owning some precious metals as a back-up. It might be too late—at this moment, platinum coins and small-denomination silver coins are unavailable. A few coins that you can carry might be lifesaving. Remember, however, that living in a rural area with a large stash of gold in a nonportable safe will not light your home, keep you warm, protect you from thugs or wild animals, or cure a bacterial infection. My grandfather’s 4 G’s were grub, gold, guns, and ground. Perhaps more important are 3 G’s: grub, guns, and gear—tools and useful items of all types.

Remember that bank depositors are unsecured creditors. Increasingly, banks are denying delaying access to deposits, or refusing credit cards if they “suspect” fraud.

Banks’ loss of depositors is an alarming trend. From a high of $18.15 trillion in April 2022 total deposits at all US commercial banks dropped to $17.3 trillion as of March 22, 2023, a loss of $850 billion of capital in the past 12 months. As the Fed hikes rates, deposits are withdrawn to seek a higher return (tinyurl.com/2zwxjyt5). Though having a large effect, the inflation-adjusted Fed funds rate is still -1.9%, meaning that the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) is “so far behind the inflation curve that they can barely see its tail lights,” writes David Stockman (https://tinyurl.com/bdhy8exj). Since March 2008, the Fed funds rate has been negative in real terms 96% of the time.

The contagion is not restricted to the U.S. The Swiss bailed out Credit Suisse, which Stockman describes as a “walking dumpster fire, which had fallen for nearly every fraudster on the planet.” Since 2016, it had booked $3.3 billion of cumulative losses even as it had paid out $4.9 billion in dividends and stock buybacks (ibid.).

SVB’s egregiously mismatched asset book still amounted to only 0.6% of the U.S. banking system, and Credit Suisse’s $718 billion of assets amounted to just 0.4% of the global banking system. The bailouts amount to a confession that “15 years of negative real interest rates have so thoroughly infected the banking system with gambling excesses that they dare not allow even the sub-1 percenters to face their just deserts.”

The Fed is an SDI (Systematically Dangerous Institution), Stockman states.

FINANCIAL MELTDOWN AND UKRAINE

The war in Ukraine is occurring as the states that are “at war with Russia” stand “at the edge of an economic precipice.” Living standards are collapsing, prices are spiraling, jobs are priced out by higher energy costs, shelves have empty spaces, and pockets of system dysfunctionality as in transport systems are confounding the smooth running of society, writes Alistair Crooke. The Europeans fear kinetic war in Europe, whereas the American faction is more fearful of the prospect of financial meltdown, should the war widen. The “Rockefeller-Davos prescription” of blowing a new financial bubble of “renewable tech” to keep the dollar-hegemony project afloat is running into difficulty as the world is moving toward decentralization and multipolarity (tinyurl.com/2rwxmn8b).

In response to U.S. sanctions disconnecting their banks from international financial services, Iran and Russia have integrated their interbank communication and transfer systems to help enhance trade and financial operations. The Russian Financial Message Transfer System “is immune to sanctions as it is based on the infrastructures of both countries,” according to Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Iran Mohsen Karimi (https://tinyurl.com/53jdu7nn).

Countries that are dumping the dollar also include China, Brazil, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and India: the majority of the world economy.

41stANNUAL MEETING

DDP’s 41st annual meeting will be held in Tucson at the Doubletree Reid Park, July 7-9. The theme is: “Global Crises: Reawakening vs. ‘Reset’.” Developing crises include energy poverty, food shortages, the corruption of science and education, possible new pandemics, escalating war that could go nuclear, and economic decline.

Sadly, Jay Lehr, “the world’s most optimistic man,” died recently, so will not be with us. As Edward Teller said, “It is our duty to be optimistic, as otherwise we do nothing to change things.” Thus, the meeting will feature ways to counter alarmism and self-destructive policies; effective pandemic response; the promise of nuclear energy; therapeutic advances (photobiomodulation); and decontamination technology (ozone).

Civil defense will be highlighted by Stephen Jones, including breakthroughs in radiation monitoring. The mobile nuclear/biological/chemical shelter display that debuted at DDP in the 1980s will be back.

Banquet speaker Robert Zubrin, founder and president of Pioneer Energy, has authored more than 200 technical and non-technical publications in various areas of astronautical, aerospace, fossil fuel, and nuclear engineering, and 14 U.S. patents. He will be available to sign his latest book, The Case for Nukes.

Nuclear War Thoughts in the 2020s

DDP Newsletter Vol. XXXIX, No. 1

A successor to the 1984 nuclear apocalypse, The Day After, was released in 2020—interesting timing? Night into Day (https://tinyurl.com/4ck9xuv8) is a fairly realistic depiction of the beliefs and probable reactions of most Americans.

Many do not believe the radio warnings of an imminent attack but intend to proceed with their planned activities, in this case filing for divorce the next day. The soon-to-be-ex visits his estranged wife to sign papers but doesn’t leave because of jammed freeways. The couple are stuck in a tiny apartment. When the flash comes, he drops to the floor—she is standing at the window and is knocked down. The power goes out; there is no TV or cell phone service. The first thought is to leave. They find an old paper map and gather all their canned food and water, but have nowhere to go. Anyway, cars don’t work.

Katie ventures outside to search for some potassium iodide to save them from radiation, thinking that someone in the building might have a thyroid problem, or there might be some at the corner pharmacy. None is found. The only plan is to await rescue. Based on past experience with hurricanes, they expect FEMA to arrive in 48 hours. Soon, they begin to suffer radiation sickness from the initial release.

None of the people commenting on the film appear to have read even the first 35 pages of Nuclear War Survival Skills. There is nothing about fire hazards, initial radiation vs. fallout, radiation monitoring, radiation protection factors, expedient shelter, or the actual purpose of potassium iodide.

Stephen Jones writes: “The whole movie is worth watching as it gives a sense of what most people will be facing, both their ignorance and denial. Psychologically it was well done. It’s a movie about what not to do.” He points out that more than 100 civil defense films are available on www.youtube.com. Just search “civil defense.” While some are outdated and no longer relevant, others are excellent.

He says: “Many people would embrace the truth if they knew where to find it.”

“Nukes are in the news, every day 24/7! Fighting in Ukraine is said to be on par with World War II battles. In each month more soldiers are killed than in ten years of the Vietnam war. Talk of using nuclear weapons by both sides grows each day.”

“Biblically we are in the time of apocalypse, meaning ‘that which is hidden is now being revealed.’”

Compared to decades ago, Jones writes, “our current inventory of civil defense meters is massive. Very likely we have the largest inventory of rad monitors for the public and emergency response in the country, and our rad monitors are the only ones designed specifically for nuclear fallout that are reliable and simple to use.”

The Kearny Fallout Meter, which was originally considered to be the meter of last resort, is the meter of only resort for the current crisis. “The best we can do with our current inventory of some 160,000 meters is to encourage the public at large to make their own.” Unfortunately, the digital age has dumbed down most of the public. The KFM was designed to be built by children born before 1968. Due to the digital age, those born later did not develop gadgeteering skills. Still, there are many millions of seniors alive today with the skills to make the simple KFM from the instructions in Nuclear War Survival Skills, with materials found in the average kitchen. The unwaxed dental floss originally specified is no longer available, but the plastic bag strips and clean human hair work. Alcohol on a Q-tip works to clean meter stop threads if contaminated with hand oil.

The breakthrough SIRAD (self-indicating radiation alert dosemeter) technology (https://tinyurl.com/4ttwfdrt), the basis for the Oh Shucks! Meter, has not been widely adopted. Jones attributes this to the Semmelweis reflex and to interagency rivalry in federal and state governments. NWSS was created by the U.S. Department of Energy (the agency that handles nuclear weapons). SIRAD was created by the Department of Defense. When the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was formed, it could not even be persuaded to add the Oak Ridge National Laboratory website (www.ornl.gov) to DHS’s site, www.ready.gov.

Searching ready.gov for any type of radiation monitoring device turned up nothing. Entering “Geiger” turned up three links to “gender.”

An additional problem is the collusion or corruption in the incestuous relationships between bankers, developers, and politicians that are making our cities tinderboxes, firestorms waiting to be lit by nukes. Instead of blast-resistant construction at a cost of only ten percent, modern buildings are built of “straw” like Hollywood sets, or sheathed in glass that would be shattered by a blast wave.

There has been massive opposition to civil defense work and to related new technology. Most importantly, enemy propaganda has been successful in convincing Americans that nuclear war is not survivable. This began with books/movies like On The Beach and Level 7, but we still hear it constantly, even from “patriotic” sources. So far, the new technology has not been a commercial success. If panic sales hit, we must charge enough to take the technology worldwide—and to distribute it to first responders.

Doctors for Disaster Preparedness was founded 40 years ago by the fathers of the atomic age to keep civil defense alive. Some of those founders were also responsible for the creation of the U.S. Department of Energy Nuclear War Survival Skills and Kearny Fallout Meter project.

So far, our accomplishments have included groundwork towards science education nationally. We are responsible for the fact that science teachers nationwide wide now use common smoke detectors for their radioactive sources instead of expensive sources “approved” by educational sales companies. We saved more than 20,000 Geiger counters headed for landfills and got them into classrooms instead. Shane Connor (www.ki4u.com) has salvaged an additional 100,000 from the scrap heap.

Our people may have a second chance to get prepared before an all-out nuclear attack occurs. Though the situation of our country looks dismal indeed, recall that the Bible is explicit about times in which “evil shall slay the wicked” (Psalms 34:21).

PREPAREDNESS TIPS

  • Your life could be saved by wearing white cotton undergarments. One soldier’s life was thus saved in Hiroshima when his outer clothing instantly burned off.
  • If there is warning, fill every available container with water.
  • Do not try to outrun fallout. Shelter in place is generally better.
  • Have small LED flashlights and headlamps.
  • Have a portable radio and plenty of batteries.

See http://www.ki4u.com/guide.htm for what to do if an attack is imminent.

Medical News Discussion Group, April 2023

  • The transgenderism issue is rapidly gaining importance. Jim and Holly Gruhl reported on an interview by Jordan Peterson of Dr. Miriam Grossman. The number of young persons claiming to be trans or nonbinary has rapidly climbed to 20% and with the pervasive influence of social media could reach 40%. Dr. Grossman states that the transgender ideology is based on the fraudulent work of John Money. While children may be pushed into treatment by therapists who threaten that the child may commit suicide if not “transitioned,” those who do transition are also at risk. In addition, parents, children, and other family members are deeply affected and may also commit suicide, a problem that is largely being ignored. Legal and legislative pushback is growing, along with strong challenges in public forums, as by Matt Walsh. TG activists are increasingly advocating violence.

Dr. Money’s foundational study involved twin boys, one of whom was severely injured by a botched circumcision. He was castrated and raised as a girl. Despite claims about “success,” the patient did not identify as a girl and eventually committed suicide.

Dr. Gruhl added that while 20% of high schoolers now claim they are nonbinary, only one in ten of those has ever dated someone of the same biological birth gender. This would suggest the claim may represent “virtue sIgnaling.” Jordan Peterson discusses the most important transitions in growing up are ages 2 to 4 and ages 16 to 20. In the 16-to-20 group, youth are “burying their youth to become adult” and are looking for heroic causes, which they often find in music, protests, and rebellions. Previous cultures used this growth period to instill patriotism.
  • Holly Gruhl commented on the increasing difficulty that patients, especially Medicare patients, have in finding medical care, including physicians’ willingness to respond promptly to questions about abnormal lab tests. She attended a talk by Li Schmidt, M.D., of Tucson, who presented interesting thoughts on wellness. She also provided information about new services and subscription plans with Dr. Pierre Kory, who is working with certified tribal healers. The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons has been interested in potential “medical tourism” to tribal lands to find physicians and methods that are disfavored by establishment medicine and Big Pharma.
  • Post-COVID situation: Holly Gruhl, who frequently attends Tucson Symphony Orchestra performances, observed that there were many new musicians. TSO conductor Jose Gomez commented from the podium that there had been many deaths. Also, the audience was much diminished—half the seats were empty. TSO requires vaccination to attend. This anecdotal evidence suggest that the vaccine rollout has not been accompanied by a “return to normality.”
  • Mortality rates: Dr. Gruhl presented information from financial analyst Ed Dowd, author of ‘Cause Unknown’: The Epidemic of Sudden Deaths in 2021 & 2022, who used data provided by Josh Stirling, concerning an alarming increase in excess deaths associated with the COVID-19 vaccine rollout. Dr. Orient asked a retired Arizona actuary about this. He provided the appended report from the Society of Actuaries, and the following comments:

“The Society of Actuaries regularly does several life insurance mortality studies for different purposes, such as Group Term Life, Group Conversion life, Individual Term Life, Individual Whole Life, Disabled Lives, and the U. S. population overall. Each of these studies are usually replicated by counting (a) Reported Claims – based on when the claim was received by the insurer, (b) Incurred Claim – based on the date of death, and (c) Claim Amounts – i.e., based on how much each life was insured for. Usually, these data are also adjusted based on the age of the respective population. While you may not want to bother reading the attached (and I only briefly skimmed through it to see where things stand), let me draw your attention to tables 2.1 – 2.4, 3.1, 3.3, 4.1 and 4.3. Each of these tables shows a large mortality impact in 2020, followed by a larger impact in 2021, falling in Q1 2022, and almost back to the normal baseline by Q2 2022 (April – June 2022).”

Dr. Gruhl noted that he looked through the SOA report and, probably for political reasons, they did not break out any vaccinated/unvaccinated data. They have that data, as insurance companies collect HIPAA Privacy information, and there is every reason to believe people would be glad to report their “virtuous” vaccinated status. Josh Stirling broke out that vaccinated data, which Ed Dowd used. They reported that insurance companies strongly pushed, or mandated, vaccines and it would be 25 years before they broke out those vaccinated for higher premiums because of higher risk—so, everyone would have to bear those increases.

Dr. Gruhl also said that he was not sure what the swing up and then back down in SOA death rates implies about vaccine deaths. World death rates are continually up about 20% beginning late 2020. Plus, birth rates are down about 20%, with mechanisms directly associated with vaccines. There is also evidence from the UK and Israel that excess mortality is occurring.

Hospitals have claimed that death rates are nine times higher in the unvaccinated. However, Dr Gruhl notes that hospitals know that a person is vaccinated if the hospital gave the vaccine, but otherwise the patient may be lumped into the unvaccinated category.

Regarding the Ukraine war, Dr. Gruhl provided a link to a Jordan Peterson’s interview of Sen. Mike Lee, discussing the problem of lack of a clear objective and the enormous expenditure ($113 billion) with little oversight: 173) Russia/Ukraine, ESG, Gigantism and the West | Senator Mike Lee | EP 346 – YouTube.

Doctors for Disaster Preparedness (DDP) Reviews New WHO Advice on COVID Vaccines

Updated guidance on COVID vaccination by the World Health Organization (WHO) states that only high-risk groups should receive ongoing booster doses because they offer little impact in the general population. Instead, efforts should focus on high-risk populations.

Notably, WHO assigns the lowest priority to healthy children and adolescents aged six months to 17 years, states Doctors for Disaster Preparedness (DDP) president Jane M. Orient, M.D.

In low-to-medium risk groups, the benefit of additional boosters is “actually quite marginal, based on what we know of the immune status of these people,” stated Hanna Nohynek, chair of WHO’s Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (SAGE).

Priority groups, according to SAGE, are principally defined based on risk of severe disease and death. Considerations include vaccine performance, cost-effectiveness, programmatic factors, and community acceptance. The high priority group includes older persons, pregnant persons, and frontline health workers.

WHO’s assumption about effectiveness against severe disease and death has been challenged on the basis of inadequate evidence, Dr. Orient points out. Pregnant persons were excluded from vaccine trials, and SAGE does not comment on pregnancy outcomes. Some physicians consider safety signals significant enough to warrant withdrawal of COVID-19 vaccines from the market.

SAGE considers both the primary series and boosters to be safe. It urges countries to base their decisions on “contextual factors, such as the disease burden, cost effectiveness, and other health or programmatic priorities and opportunity costs.”

DDP urges decisionmakers to review WHO’s revised guidance, as well as other views, in making risk-to-benefit assessments.Doctors for Disaster Preparedness provides information to help save lives in the event of natural or man-made disasters.

Doctors for Disaster Preparedness (DDP) Invites Participation in Medical News Discussion

Opportunities for doctors to get together and share their views have become rare, partly because of the rise of managed care and the decline of independently owned practices. Additionally, many medical society meetings were cancelled or became virtual because of COVID and have not resumed. The Tucson Medical News Discussion Group, comprised of physicians and nonphysicians who were members of a society’s public health committee until it was disbanded, continues to meet to discuss health-related issues of general interest. The group is now posting summaries and inviting participation, states Doctors for Disaster Preparedness (DDP) president Jane M. Orient, M.D.

Recent postings concern “turbo cancer,” actuarial reports of excess deaths, flying objects, depopulation trends, and effects of increasing atmospheric carbon dioxide and mitigation measures. They can be found on https://www.ddponline.org under the “press releases” tab and on Facebook. Comments may be submitted on the DDP website, or can be entered and shared on Facebook.

Older postings can be seen on facebook.com; search for “medical news discussion.” Besides COVID, topics include marijuana, obesity, PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Strep), vitamin A deficiency, drug shortages, and changes in medical practice.

“Confining physicians’ and patients’ information sources to official pronouncements stifles innovation and obstructs recognition of developing problems,” states Dr. Orient. “First-hand contact with persons in the real world, and open discussion, are critical for our health and safety.”

WW III? Reply to Glenn Beck on Nuclear War

Do you have insurance for the worst-case scenario?

This week on Glenn TV, Glenn Beck presented “How to Prepare for the HORRIFYING Reality of Nuclear War” (Ep 254), to awaken Americans to a threat they probably hadn’t thought about for a long time. “Mr. Beck has done a great service to our nation in his spell-binding account of the acute nuclear war danger facing our nation now,” states Doctors for Disaster Preparedness (DDP).

“Mr. Beck is correct in saying that the threat of nuclear war has never been so high, and Americans are totally unprepared,” states DDP president Jane M. Orient, M.D. “Still, he unwittingly promotes some dangerous myths that might discourage people from taking simple precautions.”

DDP offers the following factual information:

  • The “duck and cover drill” that Beck like so many others ridicules would save millions of lives in those areas far enough from the bomb where flying glass and debris would be the main hazard.
  • Any type of shadow or cover can prevent burns from the thermal flash. At Hiroshima, skin under white clothing was protected, while skin under dark colors was burned.
  • There is no fallout of significance if a nuclear warhead is air burst.
  • Fallout from a ground burst decays rapidly by the “7-10 rule.” At 7 hours after detonation, the radioactivity would be decreased to 10% of the initial level, and at 49 hours, to 1% of the initial level. It does not take 2 weeks to fall to that level.
  • Fallout is visible (it looks like sand or grit). Levels can be measured easily—unfortunately, the U.S. destroyed most of its appropriate instruments, but Beck does not mention that fact, or the alternatives available to or makeable by the public.
  • The nuclear winter theory was thoroughly debunked in 1986.

“We thank Mr. Beck for raising awareness and hope that Americans will be stimulated to increase their knowledge and level of preparedness,” stated Dr. Orient.
