SPECIAL ATTRACTIONS
PALO VERDE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION, located about 55 miles west of Phoenix, is the largest nuclear generating site in the United States. Each of its three reactors has a capacity of about 1270 MWe. The two units went on line in 1986, and the third in 1999. The bus tour will depart from the hotel Friday morning, July 11; call for exact time. We should return to the hotel by lunchtime.

The Hilton is about 12 miles from Sky Harbor. Taxi fare is about $28 one way. Super Shuttle is $16/person one way: call (800) 258-3826, or visit www.supershuttle.com.
